Tax strategy sized to how established the business is.
The right level of strategy work depends on how complex the business has become. Most of our clients are established small to mid-sized businesses, past their first few years.
Ideally we start six to nine months before year-end, since many of the most valuable decisions need to be made well before the year closes.
Start with the structure.
Entity Structure Review
We assess whether your current business structure is still the right one as revenue and ownership change.
- A review of structure, ownership and prior filings
- A written comparison of alternative structures
- The reasoning behind each option, set out in writing
Annual Tax Strategy Plan
A year-ahead plan covering timing, deductions and decisions, built before the deadlines that make them irreversible.
- Entity decisions and the timing of income and expenses
- A decision calendar with the date each choice is due
- A written handoff your accountant can implement
Quarterly Strategy Check-Ins
Ongoing sessions that catch new opportunities and course-correct as the business changes through the year.
- A standing session every quarter
- The plan checked against actual business performance
- A mid-year review before the options narrow
An annual plan first, then quarterly check-ins.
Most clients move to quarterly check-ins once the annual plan is delivered. We take on a limited number of strategy clients at a time, so every plan gets the depth of review it needs.
