One-to-one GCSE & A-level tuition

Confidence first. The grades follow.

Weekly one-to-one sessions in English and Maths, built around the exam your child is actually sitting — and the gaps nobody has had time to close.

45 minutes, no charge, and an honest answer about whether I can help.

Who this is for

For the student who is working hard and still stuck.

Most of the students I take on are not lazy and not struggling with the whole subject. They have two or three specific gaps, and a way of answering questions that quietly loses marks. Both are fixable, and neither gets fixed in a class of thirty.

How the sessions work

Three things every session does.

Start from the real gap

The first session is diagnostic. We find the two or three things actually costing marks, rather than re-teaching a year of syllabus nobody has time for.

Practise the paper, not the topic

Knowing the content and answering the question are different skills. We work on past papers, in exam conditions, with the mark scheme open.

Show the progress

You get a short written note after every session — what we covered, what improved, and what to practise before the next one.

The problem. Strong ideas, no structure. Every essay opened with a retelling of the plot and ran out of time before the second poem.

What we did. Six weeks on one thing: a paragraph shape that starts with the argument. Then eight past papers, timed, marked against the real scheme.

She stopped telling me the story and started telling me what she thought. That was the whole difference.

He went in expecting to fail it. He came out saying it was fine. I have never heard him say that about a maths exam.

Who you will be working with

I am Nadia. I will be the one teaching your child.

I taught English in secondary schools for nine years before going independent, and I still mark for two exam boards — which is the reason I can tell you exactly where a mark is being dropped rather than guessing at it.

I keep the practice small on purpose. Twelve students means I know what every one of them is working on, and there is no one else for a session to be handed to.

Start with a free assessment.

Forty-five minutes, online or in person. You will get an honest read on where your child actually is, and no pressure to book anything.
