About The Backend Room

Built for the mess nobody wants to inherit.

We’re not a web design agency and we don’t pitch new builds. Our job starts where the last person’s job ended, usually without a proper handoff.

Our Story

Started by two operations engineers.

The Backend Room was started by two operations engineers who kept getting called in after the fact — after the developer left, after the site broke, after the handoff fell apart.

We got tired of watching businesses pay to rebuild things that just needed proper documentation and a competent hand. Today we’re brought in by business owners directly, and by agencies inheriting a client’s site mid-relationship.

What We Stand For

The rules behind every takeover.

01

Diagnose Before Touching

We map what’s actually there before changing a single line of code or config.

02

You Own Everything

Every login, credential, and account gets transferred to you — no dependency on us to keep the lights on.

03

Document Relentlessly

If it isn’t written down in plain language, the next handoff will fail the same way this one did.

04

Stabilize First, Improve Second

We stop the bleeding before we talk about anything nice-to-have.

Most broken websites aren’t broken. They’re just undocumented.

If that sounds like yours, start with a diagnosis of what’s actually running.
